Obama, Feinstein, Piers Morgan Mass Shootings Gun Control and Liberty–What Difference Does it Make??

Big title eh?

We, on the right tend to look at things, or issues, in a logical and HISTORICAL manner. The left, however, feeds off of crisis’ and emotion.

Recently, we’ve seen the left launch themselves on the gun control bandwagon, led by Diane “Dirty CCW” Feinstein, Barack “Skeet Shootin’ Obama and Piers “Carnage” Morgan. They’ve taken the issue of guns, once settled by GWB43 when he allowed the Assault Weapons Ban to expire, and rekindled the mantra “take guns off the street.”

Sandy Hook Elementary and the massacre of 20 innocent 10 year olds gave them the gusto to choose to fight this fight now. Just a month ( after Obama was handed (yes, HANDED) his second term, a mad retard of a man burst into the school and killed a total of 26 victims. His first, ofcourse, was his Mother, from whom he had stolen the weapons used later at the school. She had looked into committing him to an institution and he was upset at the prospect.

If it wasn’t SHES it would have been somewhere else. When Gabby Giffords shooting and the Aurora theater shooting did not garner the public outcry needed to circumvent the Constitution, the media made darn sure that a shooting at an elementary school would.

Dianne Feinstein, a long time anti-gun advocate (who curiously enough saw fit to gain her CCW), sponsored legislation on 23 Jan 2013, a mere 3 days after Obama’s re-inauguration. The legislation bans all types of ‘black rifles’ and their pistol cousins (those that are based on the black rifle and AK platform). It does not ban kitchen knives that currently are under a possible ban in the UK (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4581871.stm).

President Obama, who’se made a career out of not allowing a crisis to go wasted, went onto the campaign trail again to push through his new vision for a gunfree and mass killer free America. He’s feigned sorrow, even shedding tears for the victims in SHES, but he’s vigorously chomped on the basic American Right of the 2nd Amendment. He often takes people to Camp David to skeet shoot, but ignores that the 2nd has zero to do with hunting or shooting sports.

As far as the media is concerned, Bob Costas and Piers Morgan are easily two of the most infantile and egregiously repulsive anti-gun commentators. Costas took to the air on Sunday Night Football during halftime to regale the nation with his vision of events. He absorbed a huge backlash and went on FoxNews to plead his case. (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/12/06/bob-costas-cant-shoot-straight-when-it-comes-to-guns/)

Morgan however, continues to plod along, getting the dregs of society to watch his show while he focuses endlessly on the question, “Why do Americans need an AR15?” Despite the continual answers given to him by his guests (including a Dana Loesch @dloesch), Morgan refuses to move on from the argument with any type of understanding of the issue. He just doesn’t get it.

Perhaps he’s forgot William Wallace and the resulting rising that gained momentum, as men ‘oppressed by the burden of servitude under the intolerable rule of English domination’ joined him ‘like a swarm of bees’. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/scottishhistory/independence/features_independence_wallace.shtml)

The fact remains that despite how we perceive our current place in history’s ‘civility’, there have ALWAYS been conflict between people of power and the serfs or the citizens of the day.

The 2nd Amendment is based on HISTORICAL needs and lessons learned from blood lost and lives sacrificed to garner a person’s liberty and rights that were given to him by simply being born.

A couple of things are bothering me about the way Conservatives are fighting this fight. It seems our pat answer to the Libs ‘point’ of 11000 gun deaths a yr is to point out that the vast majority of those victims were killed with handguns. This is a self-defeating point that we’d be wise not to continue to make. We need to make the point that the right to bear arms is an ANCESTREAL and historical right that prevents tyrannical despots from usurping the liberty from the governed. It protects the hierarchy of our government where the citizens are the ultimate owners of the country and elected officials work on our behest.

Remembering

9-11-01

The day the World changed for us Americans. There was relative peace in the US before 9-11. We hadn’t been engaged in any meaningful combat since Gulf War 1 under George Bush41. Before that we had disposed of Panama Dictator Noriega in 1989 and rescued hostages/students in Grenada back in 1986(+/-).

We have had major deployments of our forces in constant imminent danger for the past 10+ years in two separate theaters (areas of conflict) WHILE maintaining High Alert peaceful military presence elsewhere in the world.

We had 3000 people killed on 9-11-01. The cost of avenging their deaths have been steep. Our victories have been many and the justification true. The heroes that are on the front line understand the reasons and most do not want to see a job half done.

We can’t build a perfect world or nation out of the shambles that have been Iraq and Afghanistan, but we can hope to provide the peoples of those countries a chance… A chance at a life without fear of persecution or retribution. A life more liberated in education and the prospects of girls attaining what their mothers dared not pray for. A future for boys where they are not relegated as fodder for vendettas and foolish grudges. A chance where they are limited by their BRAINS, and not what hollow notion their leaders might institute at a moments notice.

We can honor the victims of 9-11 and our fallen soldiers by giving our all here at home as they have truly given all 6000 miles from home.

I am still of the opinion that we are there with the hopes of planting the seed of Freedom in the desert of perpetual conflict that is the middle east. Odds and history are stacked against the goal. But what if no one had stood up 236 years ago for us?

Embrace today and love your family.

Thank a vet.

“Todd,
Great article. It’s well written and speaks the truth. Someday soon, I hope to be back down range and I will share this with all of my Soldiers.

That compliment means the world to me.

Our Nation, Torn Asunder, Hollowed Be Thine Future Part 1

Background—
236 years ago, a great experiment was established. Blood and tears were shed, but by 1789 the task was completed. Our country has seen trials and tribulations. Errors and wins. Defeats and victories. But now the time is coming when multiple societal shifts are fast approaching.

Today and Near Future–
Over the last month, events have taken place over a wide array of societal arenas. From the SCOTUS overturning of portions of the Arizona Immg. Law and then the ObamaCare ‘taxation’ legality loophole.
We then had the LOST (Land of the Sea Treaty) that barely was stalled in the Senate. Thankfully, just enough Senators opposed this measure.
Then we have the ATT UN Gun Treaty coming up for a vote, and low and behold a mass murder involving small arms takes place 2 weeks prior to this all important vote.
We also have what is called the ‘Financial Cliff’ coming up January 1st 2013. The Bush Tax Cuts (in effect for 10-12 yrs.. so really aren’t they then ‘The Norm”?) are due to expire, the social security payroll tax cuts, as well as the activation of the Congressionally-mandated $1.2 trillion in spending cuts and the kicking in of a whole new set of fees and taxes related to Obamacare. In 2013 we’re talking about a 4% decrease in GDP just with the OCare and tax hikes, and thats not what we need.
During 2008 40% of America’s wealth evaporated. Mortgages went ‘underwater’.

Did that alter the BANKS behavior?? Heck no. They used the same tactics that caused the mortgage crisis on gov’t student loans!!!! And now 11 Global banks have are being investigated for rigging the LIBOR (which is a tool that sets the international interest rates) and manipulating it. While those were GLOBAL banks (like Barclays and UBS). Barclays CEO Bob Diamond quit after testiying before Congress… What’s scary is that almost FIVE years ago (Aug.07) another Barclays Officeer quit, a collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) officer, Edward Cahill quit after Barclays was exposed during the ’07 sub=prime mortgage debacle. So, we have 2 instances of Barclays that shows poor decisions and risky business ventures that resulted in people resigning and saying, “it’ll never happen again, we promise.”

Credit, once easy, became ridiculously difficult as the banks ‘recapitalised’. That, in common english is, “They went so broke that they had to collect fees on top of fees and incur zero risk and deny most new loans.”
Now we’re hearing that Jan 1 2013 will mark a yr that holds far worse possibilities. Europe, especially Spain and Italy, is reeling from a monetary and lazyFair (yeah Lazy-Fair) mentality of entitlement culture. Last week CNBC programs mentioned “Spanish bank runs”, and other articles mentioned Spanish Businesses railing at the 56% tax levy instituted by Finance Minister Cristobol Montoro.

PENSIONS–
Then we add the cities and municipalities that have gone bankrupt in the past 6 months just in California (Compton, Stockton, Vallego, and Mammoth Lakes) there is a common denomiator. Pensions. It was that way with the Auto companies, and now Municipalities. 30% or more of their expenses are reserved for PENSIONS. The Golden Goose has died people. Now cities, once loathe to ruin their credt and bond ratings, see the value in the Chapter 9 bankruptcy filing. Now as pension obligations escalate, they hide behind Ch9 and escape from under that crippling weight.

Employment Future—
Kids, those that are High school age to 21, used to be able to get minimum wage jobs pretty easily and use that to learn how the ‘work force’ operates. Now, they are competing against older people , freshly laid off from higher jobs, or also older people looking to supplement income that may have cut due to wage freezes. Now they are not given the opportunity to learn to contribute to society like the past 3 or 4 generations and they are aimless. If the 2013 Perfect Storm truly emerges, we’re looking at an entire generation that will be truly lost.
If the Perfect Storm happens, I also see more and more hostility (and rightfully so) towards Illegals, the businesses that hire them and Unions that hide them. There will be thrusts to deport all illegals and the normal workforce in America ahould, by then, be willing to take up the slack, even if its temporary.

The Election—
Coming up in November is a referendum on 2 Americas. We’re asked to choose between one guy who is the Evil we know and the evil that promises to be better. We are asked to choose between a closet Communist that has recently shown a love for ignoring Congress, Committees and the Constitution, and a guy that is so squeaky clean that the opponent has to dig up a hair pulling incident from 1968.
In either case, the President will inherit an economy that is on a decline that will be drastic. By inauguration day, the implosion will have been almost 3 weeks old. Companies will have set up their future funding the day after the final election votes were tallied. If ‘Business friendly’ Romney is elected, hiring may bounce up quickly.
Conclusion
The short term future for America is dim. We’ll pay the price for O’s Socialistic love affair. Well into Romney’s tenure, perhaps 18 months, the economy will be sour and the lead weights around America’s Economic Engine. In the next post I’ll list the litany of challenges that we’ll face in the next year.
As always, our nation is in flux and it will come down to the American people to respond.

Issues

I’ve written in the past posing the question “Where do we go from here?”

This question, in it’s simplicity, asks the reader to contemplate life after the USA as we know it.

I try to be objective and even maintain a positive outlook on the country. . I really do. Try, I mean. I have 2 growing kids for Christ’s sake.

I’ve never been a negative person. Growing up, I was always taught that the sun always rises, the early bird gets the worm, Early to bed early to rise…. Etc. All positive quotations and clichés.

But, I’ve never seen my country in this condition. 50 years into the Great Society and we’re broke. I mean, yes, we heard ‘broke’ back in the 70’s, 80’s, ‘90’s and ‘00’s. But we’re seriously broke this time.

Here are some things to ponder:

When your Fed chairman, as a legitimate strategy to fix debt says, “We can always print more money, we’ll never be broke”, you know you are either living in Bizzaro world or you really don’t understand world economics like you thought. What he expects is that other bankrupt countries will continue to buy our debt.

When your children have to take remedial courses in college because they REALLY aren’t smarter than a fifth grader, you know you’re school systems are places where there is more baby sitting going on than learning.

When jobs are going overseas at a whirlwind pace, you know that 1) Unions suck, 2) its cheaper to produce goods elsewhere, 3) regulations are stifling for business here.

When you’re engaged in at least 2 real wars, 2 or 3 proxy wars, and maybe 2 more ‘engagements’, all the while cutting the defense sector and veteran care, you know there is a blatant strategy to weaken the Armed Forces for some reason via attrition of both equipment and troops.

When you allow millions of people (refugees) to pour into the country while not demanding the other country to get it’s act together so that these people will find THEIR country more suitable to live in, you know the long term strategy is actually to overtake that country in a way that sees the USA grow almost twice in size.

When you learn that the overall high school dropout rate is 35% EVERY year… and that in large Democrat controlled cities it’s as much as 75%, you know there is a massive effort to dumb-OUT the people of those areas so that they are dependant and easily swayed (manipulated) to whatever the machine tilts them towards.

When you understand these things and many other issues, you see that the country has deteriorated at a rapid rate. This decline, often written and postulated about in other articles elsewhere for years, has been precipitous and at an almost freefall rate.

With all these issues, at their current level of decline, is there a real chance of arresting the fall and reclaiming the higher moral standards of our fore fathers?

The answer is a simple, “No.”

Established societies always go in one direction, down. As a society grows it is living with the ideals that founded it. As the society ages, these ideals get pushed back further from the point of implementation and each and every year those values retreat further in the group consciousness and other items start to blossom and get louder and suddenly the original mores are either ignored or forgotten. The more people you have, the more pressures on the former standards. The more tolerance, the more abuse. There’s a reason why hard ass generals, coaches, and Presidents get results.

America is no different. We are the sum of her people. This country was founded on principles of Freedom that people had fought over and won since the Magna Carta was signed almost 800 years ago (1210ad). Her train may be ready to pull out and leave the station. There have been other dire times, but I can’t recall where all these things have lined up so perfectly and in such a weakened state… at the same time. We are now a nation of limp lilly men and touchy feely policies.

“Where do we go from here?”, noone knows. But with all these issues, the continued over taxation, the approaching BOOMER bust, the approaching ‘austerity’, the approaching European depression, the looming Iranian War, dueling Anarchist/Communist/Islamist hostile takeovers, America will be hard pressed to maintain her stature as the world’s strongest, wealthiest, mightiest nation on any list.
